Sharon Osbourne and Melissa Rivers have both commented on Kelly Osbourne‘s exit from E!’s Fashion Police.
After a long, drama-filled week for the late Joan Rivers‘s fashion talk show, Osbourne (who has been a host since its 2010 beginning) announced her exit yesterday.
Osbourne originally took to Twitter on Tuesday (Feb. 24, 2015) to threaten to quit the show after co-host Giuliana Rancic‘s insensitive comments about 18-year-old singer Zendaya‘s hair at the Oscars, saying it smelled like “patchouli oil” or “weed”.
Rancic has since apologized, and reportedly told Billy Bush of Access Hollywood that someone else wrote the joke about Zendaya, a longtime Fashion Police friend.
Now that she’s dropped the bomb of her exit, her mother Sharon has spoken out in support of her shocking decision. She wrote on Twitter,
.@KellyOsbourne, I am so proud of you. You can never be bought. You always wear your heart on your sleeve. #ProudToBeYourMum

Additionally, Melissa Rivers (who’s an executive producer of the show) also spoke out in support of Osbourne, saying:
“Kelly Osbourne is a friend and has been a wonderful part of the Fashion Police family. I will miss her terribly and wish her the very best in all of her future endeavors. As my mother always said, the show must go on and I plan to continue in the same spirit.”
The show has yet to make a decision on any replacement.
As for why she may have decided to move on, an insider revealed to Us Weekly, “Kelly hasn’t been happy at the show for a while, and this whole situation solidified her decision to move on. It was time for her to go. She had five great years there, and the relationship she had with Joan there changed her life.”
