HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Shania Twain is giving marriage another shot.
The 45-year-old country star secretly got engaged to boyfriend Frédéric Thiébaud, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly.
Thiébaud, a 40-year-old Nestle business executive, reportedly popped the question about two months ago in Switzerland.
"I've never seen Shania so happy," a friend of the singer told the mag.
The newly engaged couple's romance is a unique one — they started dating after their former spouses allegedly had an affair. Twain split with her ex, producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, in May 2008 after he reportedly hooked up with her one-time best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple's chateau in Switzerland.
Twain has a son, Eja, with Lange, while Frédéric and his ex have a daughter, Johanna.
Last year, Twain admitted she had grown close to Frédéric since they could both relate to each other.
"[He] has been the most constant companion and support for both Eja and I," she said on her official Web site. "And having gone through the suffering of his family splitting apart at the same time and under the same extreme circumstances, he understands me better than anyone."
She added, "We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We've become stronger and closer through it all, as have our children, Eja and Johanna."
