If you ever want to pay tribute to Robin Williams, just look to the open waters.
According to the late actor’s official death certificate, obtained by Radar Online, Williams was cremated and his ashes were scattered along San Francisco Bay on Aug. 12, the day after he was discovered dead in his Tiburon, Calif. home.
At the time, the coroner ruled that the Oscar winner had passed away from asphyxiation after hanging himself with a belt. Williams was found by his personal assistant in a slightly suspended seated position on the morning of Aug. 11. Chemical substances were also found in his system at the time, but officials determined that toxicology results will not be made available for approximately two to six weeks.
Marin County Sheriff’s Lt. Keith Boyd told the press that Williams had cuts on his left wrist at the time of his death and a pocket knife was located nearby his body.
Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider, later revealed that the Good Will Hunting star was struggling ”with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly.” Williams was 63.
