Well, she did just open up about her thoughts on racism and discrimination, so perhaps Kim Kardashian is a humanitarian at heart.
The not-yet-married reality star attended a star-studded gala honoring President Barack Obama last night and joined Hollywood heavyweights, including Steven Spielberg, Liam Neeson, Barbra Streisand and Bruce Springsteen at the USC Shoah Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Gala.
Obama received the Ambassador for Humanity Award from Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation, which the director founded 20 years ago to document videos from survivors of the Holocaust and other genocides. The event was hosted by comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien, who cracked a joke about the traffic caused by the President’s trip to Los Angeles. “You left Washington six hours ago, but I left Burbank seven hours ago.”
Also on hand to speak was actor Liam Neeson, who starred in Spielberg’s 1993 Holocaust film, Schindler’s List, which inspired the director to create the foundation.
In one of the most touching moments of the night, Holocaust survivor Celina Biniaz, who was saved by the real-life Schindler said, “Oskar Schindler gave me my life, but Steven Spielberg gave me my voice.”
The President is expected to attend several other fundraisers during his three-day-stay in California.
