MTV announced the kick off of “Fantasy Election ‘12” today from the Republican National convention. A take on fantasy football, users can form leagues for the “Power of 12” campaign. Users then draft a team of candidates who are pursing office, be it the presidency or congress and then will earn points based on their candidates actions and their knowledge of events including reading articles at Politico.com and Buzzfeed.com/politics. Oscar nominated actress Vera Farmiga will star as Norma in A&E’s prequel to the classic Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho. Bates Motel will run for 10 episodes in 2013 and focus on the relationship between a pre-serial killer Norman Bates and his mother Norma. [Deadline]
Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts will begin her medical leave on Monday Sept. 3. She’ll receive a bone marrow transplant from her sister. Roberts was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome or MDS in June, which is a blood and bone marrow disease. The newswoman previously defeated breast cancer. [The Wrap]
