Rihanna and Chris Brown continued to prove that ex-lovers can still be friends, even after horrific events, while attending the MTV Video Music Awards Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Though it wasn’t televised, MTV cameras caught the former couple sharing a brief, friendly hug after Rihanna took home the coveted award for Video of the Year (“We Found Love”).
It was just the latest chance for the former couple to make amends after Brown brutally attacked Rihanna in 2009, an incident that ended their relationship.
In three years’ time, they’ve managed to work on a friendly relationship.
Most recently, Rihanna, 24, admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she met up with Brown, 23, in St. Tropez earlier this year.
During the emotional interview, she also admitted that Brown — with whom Rihanna recorded on her latest CD, Talk That Talk — was the love of her life.
On Thursday, Brown won the award for Best Male Video, for “Turn Up the Music.”
