HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are calling it quits.

The Dexter stars have filed for divorce from each other after two years of marriage, their reps revealed Monday.

"Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce," said the reps in a joint statement to Entertainment Weekly.

Hall, 39, and Carpenter, 31, met on the set of the hit Showtime series. They married on New Year's Eve in 2008.

A source tells Access Hollywood that Hall spoke openly about the couple's marriage problems while shooting the latest season of Dexter. Hall attended the show's fifth season finale party in New York Sunday night, but Carpenter was noticeably absent.

The actress famously stood by Hall after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. He completed his treatment earlier this year.
