Despite a broken engagement, Liam Hemsworth insists that he has no ill will towards his ex-fiancee, Miley Cyrus.
Speaking with Nylon Guys, the Australian actor says there are no hard feelings about their 2013 breakup, telling the publication that “there’s not much to say; there’s no bad blood there.”
“You never get used to it because you get followed and you get chased and it’s never a fun experience,” Hemsworth says of the attention both of them received following their highly-publicized split. “I think when people see photos of you out and about in your personal life, they assume that you’ve asked for it or that you want that attention, but I don’t think anyone in their right mind asks for that kind of thing.”

Hemsworth, 24, and Cyrus, 21, started dating after meeting on the set of The Last Song. Despite several brief breakups in 2010, the couple announced their engagement June 2012 after Hemsworth proposed with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane ring. Almost a year and a half later, the twosome called it quits for good in September 2013, with Cyrus claiming that she couldn’t be herself around her beau as the reason for their split.
For Hemsworth, who’s been linked to Mexican singer Eiza Gonzalez and The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev since the separation, he admits he’s putting his focus more on his work these days.
“If you put the work in, and you show that you’re willing to work hard, you’ll succeed,” the 24-year-old explains. ”I feel that I often put in more work, and that is what separates me from the other people.”
He adds of his The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 co-stars, “I’ve been friends with all these people for so many years now. I’m so lucky to have Jennifer [Lawrence] and Josh [Hutcherson] and Woody [Harrelson] and all these other great people. We’ve created really strong bonds.”
