But will it be a hit, because Lady Gaga could use one.
The new album from Gaga and Tony Bennett, will be entitled Cheek To Cheek, and will feature an array of classic jazz standards from the Great American Songbook including “Anything Goes,” “It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing),” “Sophisticated Lady,” “Lush Life,” and the record’s title track, “Cheek To Cheek.”
Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga sure do know how to make an entrance. The two, who have become quite closer over the years, arrived at Rockefeller Plaza earlier this morning in a Rolls Royce for an appearance on TODAY. The reason for their spot was to unveil a big announcement –– the release date of their forthcoming, and much talked about, jazz album.
Bennett and Gaga arrived on the plaza and chatted with Carson Daly. In speaking of their relationship, Bennett told Daly, “I love the way she sings. She’s a wonderful person.” Gaga returned the compliment, stating, “He’s a legend, and it’s a total honor to be singing with him. He’s really changed my life, asking me to sing with him.”
Gaga and Bennett recorded a television special Monday that will air on PBS this fall, and the album is set to be released on on Sept. 23.
