Though Katy Perry is known for her extravagant costumes and explosive stage shows, her tour rider is anything but shocking.
While her contemporaries are requesting mannequins with pink pubic hair to be placed in their dressing rooms, the “Dark Horse” singer says her backstage requests are fairly tame. In fact, she claims what she actually has on her tour rider is “so boring.”
“We have really healthy snacks,” she told Celebuzz at the world premiere of Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour in Los Angeles Thursday night. “It’s actually so boring because if you have really good snacks, you would just snack. So we have a lot of kale and a lot of the dried fruit situation. A lot of probiotics. I have a probiotic everyday. I know I sound like a super mom but I kind of am.”
Despite specifying in her 2011 tour rider for “perspex modern style” coffee tables, “French ornate style” floor lamps and “absolutely no carnations,” Perry, who already chalked up 129 dates and counting on The Prismatic World Tour, insists that she’s not as demanding as some people make her out to be.
“It’s not crazy. People like to do this ‘Exposé: Katy Perry’s Tour Life Rider Thing’ [and claim] she’s such a diva,” the 30-year-old said. “I’m sorry. If you lived on the road every single day and you were in and out of a hotel, don’t you want comfort? Don’t you want some sliced turkey?”
“Don’t you want baby wipes? Baby wipes are so important,” Perry added as a must-have. “They’re like the poor man’s shower. They are good for everything.”
Duly noted.
Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour airs March 28 at 8 p.m. on Epix.
