While Kate Upton just landed a lead role in The Layover starring Lea Michele, some are saying that her ego could be harming her career.
Kate Upton could be described as one of the greatest modeling successes in the last five years. After a video of her dancing at a basketball game went viral, she has graced the pages of some of the biggest publications in Hollywood, including Sports Illustrated, GQ and Vogue.
She has even made an on screen appearance along side Cameron Diaz in The Other Woman. Now, many in the industry are saying that her fame has gone to her head.
The New York Post recently spoke to several fashion insiders who claim her “diva-like behavior” has gotten somewhat out of hand. “She became really unappreciative of her success. It totally went to her head. She didn’t understand that people had taken a chance on her,” one publicist stated.
Others have claimed that she has also began some outrageous demands within the industry such as refusing to be photographed with other models for shoots. “Even Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell embrace new models and shoot with them. If you look at people with those long careers, they know how to give back.”
Her highly anticipated Super Bowl commercial for the video game app Game of War, which depicted her in a medieval breastplate trotting toward a battlefield, was widely panned leaving many to wonder if she should have stuck to modeling.
