Despite all the rumors and speculation, Jason Derulo continues to deny that cheating played any part in his split from Jordin Sparks.
The R&B singer, who went public with his breakup from Sparks last week, has been very open about the split, candidly admitting the two aren’t on good terms. And Wednesday morning, while chatting with Power 105.1 FM’s Breakfast Club, he dove a little deeper, revealing exactly how he broke it off and even went as far as dishing details about their sex life.
So when asked point-blank if he cheated or not, it’s hard not to believe him.
“Nah, man there was none of that,” he told DJ Envy. “I mean, we had our problems in our relationship, you know what I’m saying? Every relationship has their ups and downs and you know, when you start having more downs than ups, you know, you gotta take a look at your relationship and be like, you know, ‘Is this something that I’m supposed to be doing…?’”
But despite his denial, several photos have surfaced of the singer with other women.
“You’re gonna always see pictures of me with other women but you can’t…you can’t put that woman in my bed just ’cause she has her hand on my shoulder, you know what I’m saying?” He explained. “Like, women are around me all the time and women, like, grab me all the time. You could literally snap a picture at any given moment and it could look crazy.”
So then what was the core reason for their split? Time? Traveling? Petty things like leaving the toilet seat up? Sex? One of the DJ’s joked whether or not Derulo could keep up in the sack…
“It wasn’t a problem in that area at all,” Derulo laughed.
But he got serious when he summed up the reason for the break up with, “There was a lot of different small things that made our relationship fall a little sour.”
And after “feeling like this for a long time” he says he was just ready to be done with it. One last big argument at a restaurant was the final straw and a few days later he made the decision to end things… Over the phone.
“I wasn’t in town!” the singer explains when the DJs give him serious grief for doing it that way.
Despite the breakup and rough split, Derulo says he still loves her.
“You want to remain friends, but man, that’s hard, man,” he explains. “You know, like, I catch myself like, looking at her Instagram and seeing what she’s doing and stuff…’cause I love her. You know what I’m saying? Like, I love her. You just don’t fall out of love with somebody like that.”
