Looks like Jamie Foxx will have to beef up for his next role.
Variety is reporting that the Academy Award winning actor is set to portray Mike Tyson in an upcoming untitled biopic. Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, The Wolf of Wall Street) is set to provide the screenplay.
While details on the biopic are unclear, the report comes two days after Tyson reportedly discussed the project with British tabloid The Mirror.
“Within a year to 18 months, we’re going to do the Mike Tyson story and he’s going to portray me, and now they have this new animation; because you know Jamie’s pretty much my age so he can’t portray me but they have this new system,” the legendary boxer told the paper.
The “new animation” he’s referring to is apparently the same CGI technology used to make Brad Pitt look like a real old man and real baby in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Foxx, who won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2004 for Ray, can next be seen in the Jay Z and Will Smith produced remake of Annie.
