Idris Elba has amazingly took to Twitter to respond to the rumors that he will be the next actor playing the role of James Bond.
The Sony hack has revealed sensitive emails related to a myriad of matters, amongst them film castings, such as that Elba was in talks to be the next 007. Last week, conservative US talk show host Rush Limbaugh made controversial comments criticizing the rumors, saying Elba should not play Bond because he is black since the original author of the James Bond book series, Ian Fleming, wrote Bond to be “a white [man] from Scotland”.
Limbaugh added, “That’s not who James Bond is, and I know it’s racist to probably even point this out.”
Um, yeah!
Elba said via Twitter, to critics and fans alike, to write:
Isn’t 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot! Happy New year people. pic.twitter.com/3g9lAl2Uo3

The actor’s saucy comment paired with his scruffy, handsome face made for an excellent response.
Elba has expressed interest in playing the role of the alluring British secret service agent in a recent interview. He was asked during a Reddit AMA in September if he’d be willing to take on the role, and he said, “Yes, if it was offered to me, absolutely.”
If it does in fact happen (fingers crossed!), unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a couple more years to see Elba in the role of Bond since Daniel Craig is signed on for one more film after Spectre, the 24th Bond film, set to be released in November 2015.
