Ladies and gentleman and all diehard Lizzie McGuire fans… I’m ecstatic to announce that after a seven year hiatus, Hilary Duff is finally returning to the music industry. (Who thought her singing career was so yesterday anyway?!)
The 26-year-old and her record label RCA announced that she’s set to release a new album this fall and will be kicking things off with the first single titled “Chasing the Sun,” coming out on July 29.
“I took a break from music for quite awhile, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully and I’m really proud of the album I’ve made,” Duff said in a release. “‘Chasing The Sun’ is a light and fun summer song that I hope helps people to feel a little more carefree.”
The mommy of one hasn’t released an album since 2007′s Dignity with her most successful album Metamorphosis–which included singles like “Come Clean” and “So Yesterday”–hitting NO.1 on the albums chart in 2003. So the career move is definitely a big one for Duff.
And this isn’t the only move she’s making… The blonde beauty is currently working on her acting career again, too, filming TV Land series Younger which is set to premiere this fall as well.
