As we all know, Austin Mahone and Justin Bieber are quite similar–both being male pop senstions, teen heartthrobs and young stars to hit it big in the music industry.
But there’s one thing that separates them: Bieber’s bad boy decisions.
Mahone has kept his “nice guy” persona throughout his rise to stardom over the last several years, staying out of trouble and out of public criticism… Until last month, when he decided to ring in his 18th birthday with bad boy Biebs, raising many eyebrows and much concern.
But don’t get too worried just yet! Austin told CELEBUZZ exclusively that he’s learned from the “Baby” crooner’s mistakes and isn’t planning to take that road moving forward in his career.
“I mean, everyone makes mistakes,” Austin says in reference to Bieber’s many controversial run-ins with the law. “I think it all comes down to having a good, solid team around. Like I have my best friends to travel with me, and my mom to travel with me, so I think I have a pretty good base. I think that’s what it all comes down to.”
However, Mahone still considers Bieber a mentor despite his many mistakes and even asked for his help on some upcoming music.
“We were in the studio for about a week,” Mahone described his meeting with Bieber last month. “And when we were in there, he was helping me with [my] music, and we were doing a little writing. He was just giving me little tips.”
And the boys have more than just music in common… Rumors also circulated that their taste in women overlaps, too.
When I asked Austin who he’d choose between Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, he immediately answered, “Selena.” No hesitation whatsoever!
As you may recall, earlier this year reports circulated that Selena and Austin were seeing each other during one of SelGo’s many splits from Bieber.
