We get our first glimpse of the monsters in a new trailer (watch below) for 20th Century Fox’s The Maze Runner, an adaptation of a science fiction young adult novel by James Dashner.
Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf) takes the lead as a teenager named Thomas who wakes up inside a giant maze with no memory of the outside world. Luckily, there are a bunch of other boys in the same situation, but they’re all too terrified of mysterious monsters living just outside the walls the surround them to escape.
When a single girl who knows Thomas shows up, the lost boys begin to piece together enough clues to get an idea of where they are and why before plotting their escape.
Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Will Poulter co-star in the Sept. 19 release directed by Wes Ball.
