Okay, I know… Thinking about Harry Potter losing his virginity is a bit much, but in all fairness Daniel Radcliffe has come a long, long way since those Hogwarts days.
He’s taken his acting skills to new heights in films like Kill Your Darlings, stripped down on-stage and gone full-frontal in Broadway play Equus and will get naked again in his rom-com debut What If.
Let’s just say the kid with the forehead scar has grown up… And we dig it.
Speaking of “grown up” things, in a candid (and quite adorable) interview with Elle magazine, Radcliffe talks about sobriety, relationships and his sex life.
When asked about losing his virginity the star responded honestly, “I’m one of the few people who seem to have had a really good first time… It was with somebody I’d gotten to know well. I’m happy to say I’ve had a lot better sex since then, but it wasn’t as horrendously embarrassing as a lot of other people’s were—like my friend who got drunk and did it with a stranger under a bridge.”
LOL! So what about Daniel’s sex life now? The 25-year-old has opened up about his previous struggles with alcohol abuse and began living a sober life in 2010… But is sober sex better than drunk sex?
“For some people sex might be better drunk, but for me—and the person I’m doing it with—it’s much better sober,” he said.
Radcliffe is currently dating his Kill Your Darlings co-star Erin Darke–who got him into watching Million Matchmaker, which helped him figure out, if and when he decides get married, he wants to have an equal relationship like his own parents.
Though he’s not currently engaged to Darke, he sees marriage in his future. “It seems like the most romantic thing you can do is stand up in front of all your friends and say that you love this person… At the same time, the amount of stress that goes with a wedding…. I don’t know. I do think of it as being in my future at some point.”
Back in the day, however, if you had asked him which actress he’d marry if he could choose just one: “Kirsten Dunst. The kiss in Spider-Man was enough for a lot of young men.”
We’re a little bummed he didn’t say Emma Watson, but Kirsten Dunst was hot, too!
