Chris Brown wants to change people’s perception of him.

The award-winning singer’s public persona hasn’t exactly been the same since he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna over three years ago, but he knows he’s got a lot of work to do.

In MTV’s This Is How I Made It, Brown admitted, “Having to get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back… it’s not all the way back, you know?”

“But it’s one of my most humbling experiences. I can’t hate people for making judgment on me or making a decision of liking me or not liking me,” The “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer added. ”All I can do is try to be better as a person, and I’m good with knowing everything isn’t always going to be perfect.”

 

 

Brown appeared in front of a judge in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday for a probation progress hearing stemming from his assault case —  concluding that he will remain on five-years supervised probation after pleading guilty to felony assault charges stemming from the Feb. 8, 2009 attack on the “We Found Love” songstress.

However, the two have seemingly rekindled their romance after Brown broke up with girlfriend Karrueche Tran early last month.

But he says his fans accept his flaws.

“The fan base that I have and the actual support is unreal to me. They’ve put me in a position to be able to help people and continue to do music and help my family, help my mom,” Brown said.

“I just want my fans to be able to identify, whether it be the ones that maybe could of had everything or they maybe blew their chance and they failed and didn’t know how to get back up.”

Brown explains his ups and downs have made him human: “It sounds crazy, but that’s what makes us who we are.”
