Britney Spears‘ manager, Larry Rudolph, is spilling some major behind-the-scenes secrets about the singer’s kiss with Madonna at the 2003 Video Music Awards.
Spears, Madonna and Christina Aguilera‘s “Like a Virgin” performance is one of the most memorable moments in VMA history. 11 years ago, Rudolph was there, right by Spears’ side during every rehearsal, watching her get ready for the performance. Before the performance, details surrounding the opening number at the 2003 VMAs were kept under wraps. One person who was in-the-know? Spears’ manager. He was there for rehearsals with Spears and Madonna, and told Billboard about the strict schedule Madonna wanted to stick to. He revealed, “Madonna had been very, very, very rigid about the rehearsals. She was telling Britney and I every day, ‘Be here tomorrow at 10 o’clock.’ She would never address me by name, she would just say, ‘You make sure Britney’s here tomorrow at 10 o’clock.’”
