In Katy Perry‘s defense, with all the trendy hipster clothing guys are wearing these days, I, too, have a difficult time telling who’s gay and who’s not… Which typically ends up in me getting laughed at and feeling pretty embarrassed about my life.
But for someone like Katy, flirting with a gay guy turned out to be one of the best awkward moments she’s ever had.
You know that amazing spinning peppermint candy bra from” California Gurls?” Or that awesome popcorn dress she rocked during Billboard’s Summer Beats special? Well, those happened thanks to her flirtatious ways with celeb stylist Johnny Wujek.
When asked how the two met, Wujek said, “She hit on me at a party.” He caught her eye at a house party for fashion label Sass and Bide back in 2006.
Johny told E! News that Katy approached him with a guy friend and point-blankly asked: “Are you on my team or on his?” Johnny obviously replied, “his.”

Luckily, that awkward run-in blossomed into a professional relationship we can thank for many of Katy’s show-stopping costumes!
Unfortunately, though, Katy continues to have pretty bad luck when it comes to finding datable men… You know, after divorcing Russell Brand and breaking up with John Mayer (twice) and all.
Her luck could be changing though! The 29-year-old was spotted hanging out with longtime pal Diplo during Coachella last weekend. The two were spotted getting cozy at a party, and an eyewitness tells E! they were “definitely flirting” and acting like more than just friends.
Another source tells Page 6, “Katy and Diplo hooked up at Coachella. They were together behind the main stage where she had a tour bus or trailer, and a group of her friends were hanging out… It was very obvious that Katy and Diplo were together. They seemed insperable and at one point they were seen getting onto her bus together.”
Katy was also spotted hanging with good friend Robert Pattinson at the H&M Loves Music Party, wearing what we picked as one of the top 10 looks from the festival weekend.
