The twosome has donated $2 million to the Naankuse Lodge and Wildlife Sanctuary, where they spent Christmas with their kids, the Associated Press reports.

The donation was made through the couple's Jolie-Pitt Foundation in the name of their daughter Shiloh, who was born in Namibia.

"We want her to be very involved and grow up with the understanding of her country of birth," Jolie said in a statement.

The sanctuary accommodates mostly orphaned and injured animals that cannot be released back into the wild. It also offers luxury accommodations which raise money for conservation projects.

"Some of the donated funds will be used in the running of a clinic which provides free medical care to the community of bushmen, including the treatment of malnutrition, tuberculosis and HIV," Dara Barrett, head of finance at the Naankuse sanctuary, told AP of the donation.

During their holiday stay, the couple's children reportedly helped to feed and care for orphaned baby baboons and foxes. They also saw a leopard released back into the wild.
