Much like the rom-com movie genre, TV has its own formula for love. That is, of course, the age-old “will they or won’t they?” relationships.

It works, because we’ve all been there. Whether it’s on screen or in real life, couples rarely have the perfect relationship. On TV, it’s usually an on-again-off-again type of love that captivates us. Hate it or love it, these relationships keep us coming back for more.

We’ve gone back to our favorite shows of the 80s and 90s like trailblazers Friends, Felicity and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to more modern entries into the field like New Girl, Glee and Mad Men.
