‘Kourtney & Kim Take Miami’ Premiere Recap: Have Mercy? (VIDEO)

By Celebrity News Wire on January 20, 2013

The Kardashian sisters touched down in “Magic City” on the premiere episode of E!’s Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.

As one of their homes away from home, the gals had some professional and personal issues that had to be dealt with right away. And the premiere episode certainly set up the storylines we’ll be following all season.

Note: Spoilers if you haven’t watched Sunday’s premiere episode, “Welcome Back to Miami.”

DASH 911!: When the Kat’s away, clearly the DASH Miami employees will play. The women stopped by their boutique and found the place severely below their standards. And while we should have expected “clean freak” Kourtney Kardashian to blow her top, sisters Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian Odomwere beside themselves, as well. But Kim decides to calm them down, because she hates making their employees, or anyone for that matter, feel bad. In the end, the gals realize that the actual space doesn’t work anymore and decide the store has to be relocated.

Kim and the marriage that will never end: Kim is still in the middle of the legal wrangling over her divorce with Kris Humphries. He won’t grant a straight up divorce, instead wanting an annulment. But, that won’t be granted unless he can prove fraud. Kim acknowledges that the process has been annoying and costly, but her sisters think she’s still holding too much in. So, what does Khloe do? Call in Kim’s bestie, Jonathan Cheban, to help get her to express herself. Yes, Kim is angry but didn’t she just do the same thing by calling in Scott against Kourtney’s wishes (see below)? Basically, sisters have to look out for each other – even when they don’t think they need it.

Kim, Kanye and their new addition: No, it’s not a human baby, but it certainly seems like good practice for one. Kim’s boyfriend Kanye West couldn’t be in Miami with her, but he sent her something to keep her warm: an immensely adorable white Persian kitten, which the couple later named Mercy. But Kim soon finds that kittens can be handful, but she wants to disprove Kourtney’s belief that she’s “incapable of taking care of anyone else.” It didn’t help things that she lost track of Mercy after a crazy night out and worried if she had just proved her sister right. Thankfully, Jonathan was taking care of Mercy and Kim comes to terms with the fact that taking care of someone (or something) else is tough.

Does Kourtney need Scott around?: Who can forget Scott Disick’s drunken theatrics on the last season of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami? So, no one can blame Kourtney for feeling he shouldn’t be around Miami’s many temptations. But, her sisters think she needs him around, but won’t admit it. So, Kim takes matters into her own hands and tells Scott that he needs to come. Can Scott keep his cool? And, of course, Kourtney isn’t pleased that her sisters went behind her back.

Buzz Moments

O.M.G.!: There were entirely too many shots of kitty poop on this episode.

Thank you, TV gods.: After all the talk of Scott being out of control, how funny was it that he had to be designated driver for Kim and Khloe after a crazy night with the DASH girls? And, how horrible did you feel for him when Kourtney assumed he was out partying too?

Awk-ward: Scott smelling of alcohol upon arrival in Miami? That certainly didn’t help his case with Kourtney.

O.T.T.: Kim and Khloe in head-to-toe YOLO! “Why are you guys dressed like Cyndi Lauper?” asked Jonathan.

Fab-u-lous: A shave, a suit and a ballin’ car? Lord Disick is back.

Can. Not. Wait.: Where do I start? Kim finding out she’s pregnant? Khloe snagging The X Factor hosting gig? And was that a police siren I heard?

Part 2 of the Kourtney & Kim Take Miami premiere airs Monday at 9PM on E!.
