Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are hitting the town on New Year’s Eve and hosting MTV’s Club NYE 2013. They’ll be joined comedian Jeff Dye to watch the ball drop. The special will feature performances by Kesha, Ne-Yo, Sean Kingston, and Rita Ora among others. Snooki is hoping to use “a leopard bedazzled mircophone” for her hosting duties. CBS has announced it’s midseason schedule. New series, Golden Boy will have a special preview on Tuesday, Feb. 26 and Tuesday Mar. 5 at 10 PM before moving to Friday on Mar. 8 at 9 PM. Meanwhile the spring editions of Survivor and The Amazing Race will premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Deb. 17 respectively. Both at 8 PM. [CBS]
MTV’s 24-hour college network, mtvU, has named its man and woman of the year for 2012. Singer/songwriter Frank Ocean and Pakistani social activitst Malala Yousafzai were chosen for the honor as they both attempt to challenge the status quo in their respective communities. Starting Thursday the network will profile the two honorees on-air and online. [mtvU]Judd Apatow has reunited the cast of his show, Freaks and Geeks, for the comedy issue of Vanity Fair. Celebuzz’s sister site Socialitelife.com editor Kelly Lynch was featured on an episode of E!’s comedy clip show, The Soup. Lynch, who hosts the royal-based web show, The Duchess Diary, was subject to an audio malfunction which changed her voice during a segment for Los Angeles’ FOX News 11.
