Ashlee Simpson was raised in Texas and is the younger sister of singer/actress Jessica Simpson. Simpson studied dance as a child and at the age of 11, she became the youngest person ever admitted to the School of American Ballet.

When she was 14, her family moved to Los Angeles to support her older sister’s blossoming career. It was then that Simpson got her showbiz start by backing up her sister on stage.

In 2002, Simpson started to become a celebrity in her own right, appearing as a regular cast member on the television series "7th Heaven," in addition to making her film debut in "The Hot Chick."

Two years later, she appeared on the MTV reality show "The Ashlee Simpson Show," which featured the making of her first album, "Autobiography." Simpson’s debut release would go on to achieve platinum status, earning her superstar status alongside her already-famous sister.
